Creating Pacific NW Foliage took me back to my days as a child, living on top of a mountain, in the woods playing in the undergrowth. I took inspiration from childhood curiosities, imaginings and perspectives that nature imparted to me. Nature is balanced, illustrated by the stinging nettles, they are easy to spot, but every so often I would use fern seeds neutralize the pain of accidental contact. The maple trees would intertwine and curve into shapes allowing a child to climb up and let out her inner Mowgli.
